Is there such thing as getting infected by a sin?

I don’t know much about sins, all I know is that there are seven deadly sins:
Lust, gluttony, envy, wrath, greed, pride and sloth.
Could someone explain why there are sins?

no your body wouldn’t be infected by those things but your soul would and you won’t notice that (and it won’t hurt you) till you go to the other life. if God’s said they’re sins he’s just wanted people’s souls to remain pure and good so they won’t go to Hell. but if you do those things, your soul would get darker n darker. but as i said before it wouldn’t hurt you like an illness.

  3. What an interesting way of putting it; infected by sin. Yes, I think it is a great analogy. Think of it in this way, if you go wading through a pigs pen, you can’t help but get a little muck on you, better to avoid the pen altogether.
