Is Envy of The Seven Deadly Sins found or similar to other religions sin?
"sin" is in the eye of the beholder, so to speak.
sin is a wrongdoing, or anything that LEADS you to a wrongdoing. in some religions, even THINKING about doing it is as bad as actually doing it, since it may lead you to ultimately DO it.
thus, in those religions, envy would be a sin, because it is deeply desiring something you don’t have, which may lead you to STEAL it in the future at some point. for this reason, envy is frowned upon, because there is no way to know for certain that you will be able to withstand the temptation involved.
"The seven deadly sins" is not a concept found anywhere in the Bible. It is a made up thing by the Catholic church. That isn’t to say that envy is not a sin, it is, but not the way the Catholic church or Hollywood has painted it.

Maybe they wanted to paint it as a VERY bad sin because they didn’t want people envying what they had or questioning why they walk around with so many riches and live in such luxury and the majority didn’t.
