  1. Maybe but at the …
Maybe but at the same time the salvation for the city was first spoken of by a woman and it’s fergeson’s love for Maria that will save the day in the end. When ever ppl. claim women are the root of evil they more or less are pointing to the heavy influence that women have over men…it works both ways-good an bad. It’s just men not wanting to take responsibility for being the stronger sex…its the girls fault…Eve ate the apple first…maybe, but Adam still had the authority to say no to it.

  2. LOL…the grim …
LOL…the grim reaper is hilarious with his bone!!! I felt like I was watching a robot chicken epi…this movie just went super biblical.

  3. amazing movie.
    lol …

    amazing movie.
lol the music is very modern for a old movie like that..!!

  4. This song has been …
This song has been my fav of the entire re-score… great job. The film itself is amazing… and althought women as evil is not the complete meaning of the film, it is partly there as a theme… remember art nouveau art was usually macabre, and filled with vampira dn femme fatale ideologies…

  5. Wow. Sort of took …
Wow. Sort of took me by surprise when the figures started moving. Brilliantly creepy.

The music *really* works in this scene!

  6. Its better than …
    Its better than moulin rouge

  7. I love this one the …
I love this one the most I think

  8. Thanks for posting …
    Thanks for posting this!

  9. Yea I was about to …
Yea I was about to delete this message when you replied. I carelessly didn’t notice that the title was Metropolis: Rescore. The quality is also unparalleled to my DVD’s, I guess it must be a new version.

  10. yes, it’s a rescore …
yes, it’s a rescore as stated on the title. thanks for listening!

  11. The DVD I have has …
The DVD I have has a totally different musical score.

  12. Which arguement do …
Which arguement do you mean? that you need sources that are related to the film?

I guess what i really mean is that i don’t see how the film is saying that “women are evil and the source of all things wicked” also i which came after i’m saying you need to support your argument

  13. Your argument would …
Your argument would be correct if I were to say that the whole film is in fact an analogy for alien parrots’ invasion of the Darterian galaxy. I don’t see how the time in which it was made is not related to the film or in fact what I see in the footage and upon which I base my interpretation. Now, if you were to say that you disagree with my interpretation, that would be a different matter, but to say that my interpretation is incorrect isn’t reasonable.

  14. Exactly not many …
Exactly not many people now would know Thea Von Harbou or Fritz Lang so the only source to support our interpretations is the film and their beliefs like i said.

Yeah you can interpret the film in many ways but you have to support your interpretations with sources that are related to the film

  15. Now, do you …
Now, do you personally know the people who wrote it, ’cause I don’t. So, what I’m doing is using my knowledge of the widespread believes of the time to make an informed interpretation. Whatever happens in the film can be interpreted in many ways, depending on which lens you choose to apply (Marxist, psychoanalytical et al.)

  16. Funnily enough our …
Funnily enough our messages are being sent closer together lol

  17. Just to clarify …
Just to clarify Beliefs as in the beliefs that would be associated with the interpretation

  18. But If your going …
But If your going to analyze something shouldn’t the story come into account? when you analyze something don’t you need points to support your interpretation. With this case it would be the story or information about the beliefs of the people who wrote it.

    And lol yeah it has!

  19. No, because that’s …
No, because that’s what you’re saying. What I’m saying is what I’ve said. Yours is a slightly different interpretation. Oh, and I’ve used sarcasm heavily in my interpretation, just to accentuate my point (I mention that in case that’s what’s causing the problem). Gosh, the comments section is turning into our own private conversation. :D

  20. Then if you were …
Then if you were going to analyze the film couldn’t you say that how men create women to be like objects and use there beauty to manipulate others?

  21. Yeah, you’ve just …
Yeah, you’ve just kind of re-told me what has happened in the film so far. I’m looking at the whole matter from one perspective, thinking of the ideas that were front-line in the days when this film was shot. Remember that this was the time of Freud’s quiet sexual revolution. At the time, most people weren’t keen on his ideas. I’m trying to analyse the film, put it into a context, not just simply watch it.

  22. also the only …
also the only reason why the robot is a female (before it took the shape of maria’s) was because Rotwang made it with the intention of bringing back Hel who both was Freder’s Mother because he (rotwang) and Joh (freder’s father) were both in love with her (or that is what it leads me to believe)

  23. But like i said …
But like i said before the character Maria is innocent The Robot using Maria’s beauty ( who is under the command of Rotwang) Tempts the men into madness to destroy society the robot uses her looks as a tool to manipulate the men it doesn’t necessarily mean that Thea Von Harbou and Fritz Lang wanted to convey all women to be evil temptresses

  24. But the the robot …
But the the robot is still a female. The robot assumes a woman’s appearance as a disguise. There’s also the idea that as soon as a woman starts exploring her sexuality (as the robot does), she becomes evil. Women should be simple and innocent. Considering how much religious symbolism and how many religious allusions there are in this film, I don’t know think that I’m far off in saying what I’ve said in my previous comment.

  25. oO? its actually a …
oO? its actually a robot that has stolen the form of the character Maria. The idea is that the robot degrades Maria (especially since the real maria is supposed to be seen as innocent and a saint). Its like someone making a with a person that looks exactly you and is meant to represent you. The robotic Maria just symbolizes temptation hence the connection to the 7 deadly sins
