If pride is one of the 7 deadly sins, why is everyone "so proud" of everything?

I was taught that pride is one of the worst sins (remember the angel Lucifer?). So why do so many people (ministers included) seem to always be proud of one thing or another?

most people are asleep and suffering. People are conditioned to be proud by a praise and blame society that manipulates using that kind of black magic. We have to awaken from our conditioning and to it and change it.

Perhaps another word could be used, but what’s important is the attitude and the intent of the person using it. Are you proud because you’ve succeeded at something or are you proud because you think you’re better than others?

God used the term well-pleased when referring to Jesus.

No he said that his creation was good, and being proud like showing off is bad it says that in the bible.
And what do u mean they seem to be proud? If they proud they proud if they not they not how do u figure someone is proud of something?
