If there were seven more (or less) what do you say they’d be?
At this time of year i’d be tempted to say: Dasher, Dancer, Prancer, Vixen… but then again i’m a wisenheimer prankster and, oh well, just tell me what you think.
Intolerence would be one.
Prejudice/Bigotry/Racism would be another.
What is the difference between doctrinal sin and personal sin? Where does the 7 deadly sins such as gluttony fall under?
Not sure if this is what you want… but in the Roman Catholic church there is original sin and personal sins. Original sin comes from the fall of man, basically when Adam and Eve disobeyed God, a sin was cast upon all human beings. Basically, all people are born with original sin and in order to get rid of it they must be baptized
In regards to personal sins, there are two types mortal or venial. Mortal sins are really serious sins, where the sinner is fully aware that the act or omission is both a sin and is a serious sin and does it anyway. The seven deadly sins fit in here.
Then there are Venial sins. Venial sins are the lesser sins that don’t fit in the mortal sin category.
I’m planning on having a 7 deadly sins themed party, nothing heavy or celebrating them, I need some ideas for activities or games for each sin. For example for gluttony I’d put the food or a chocolate fountian there or something like that. I hope you get the idea so please help me think of some ideas.
If you dont know the 7 deadly sins they are : Vainity/pride, Envy, Gluttony, Lust, Anger/Wrath, Greed (money), Sloth/Laziness.
OK, you walk in wearing your shortest skirt to make sure the guys look (lust.) Check yourself in the mirror (vanity) and put the chocolate out (gluttony.) Other women will look at you also (envy.) Tell the guys they you will lean right across the table to adjust the chocolate fountain if they all make a financial contribution (greed.) and the other women will be mad as hell (anger.) When the guys get the money together tell them you can’t be bothered anymore (sloth)

I’m considering being Envy for Halloween. I remembered that Naima was Envy in that one shoot, so I’ve been trying to find a photo of her but haven’t found anything. I’ve tried Google and the CW.com…

Lust! I want everything & everyone. Preferably right now.
Vanity! I love myself. Nobody is as perfect as me.
Gluttony! I find it hard to stop me once I start …
Envy! The grass is always greener on the other side. I hate everyone who does it better than me.
Laziness! You have to have it as good as possible. Ideally, all the time.
Greed! My, my, my! I always want more.
Rage! I’m pissed. Continues. At all.
I would say Vanity… but I can’t just stop at one, so Lust too. And since I can’t stop at 2 either, I have to say Gluttony too.
Cause people coined the term and use it to scare others to God. But I would think that the real God isn’t wrathful at all.
pride is a sin so what makes patriotism or ethnic pride any better?

I am Atheist but it just came to mind that I have never been sure if the 7 deadly sins are part of a particular religion or something that is sort of like in a general rule book for people. Not saying I have committed any of these sins, I was just curious.
The "7 deadly sins" came primarily from Dante’s Inferno.
Though if people need religion to know right from wrong, then we’re screwed.
